It's a tough job........

BUT SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT!!

One of the best things about my job are the field trips. Towards the end of the school year, there are lots of trips during the day that go to the various zoo's, plays and museums anywhere from here to Seattle. Well, yesterday I was able to get a trip to Northest Trek, which has animals that are native to the Pacific Northwest. There's an hour long tram ride that goes through a free-roam area where the animals are in their natural habitat. We saw deer, buffalo, sheep, a bald eagle, beaver, etc. There are also places to walk around to see owls, wolves, bears, cougars, bobcats..... This has been one of my favorite places to take the girls since we moved here. Anyway, yesterday I had the tough job of taking a group to Northwest Trek, dropping them off at the front gates, parking the bus and then being "forced" to spend 4 heavenly hours there wandering around, looking at the beautiful animals, trees, forest areas, etc that make Washington State so beautiful. It was a wonderful reminder of our Heavenly Father and the beauty He has provided for us.

A date with my daughters!

This last Friday night, the girls and I went to the Taylor Swift concert in Seattle. Despite the fact that it took us over 2 hours to get to Seattle due to the traffic congestion - we had a really good time. (Besides, travel time in the car is the perfect time for "chatting" and is my favorite time.) We had heard from several people that Taylor Swift didn't put on a very good concert - but we thought it was great! We love Seattle and would have LOVED to spend the entire day up there before the concert - but work and school takes precedence. :-) It's always nice when I get to spend a "night out on the town" with the girls.

Nightmare Quote of the day!

Picture this if you will:

It is Sunday (on Mother's Day) and we are in church.

I'm sitting there listening to the amazing talks being given by the Relief Society Presidency. They are uplifting and inspiring (and funny at times).

I'm also thinking about how lucky I am to have 2 amazing daughters sitting next to me.

Suddenly, Sam leans over and says:

Sam: Mom! I'm going to be 16 years old next year!!!!
Me: (Inside my head) AUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! Outwardly I say (as calmly as possible) "Sam honey. You aren't even 15 yet.
Sam: I know, but I'll be 15 years old in 4 months. That means that in a little over a year I'll be 16 years old!
Me: Sam honey. You will never turn 16 years old......I won't let you.

At this point, I get "the look"! Gotta love the teenage years!!!!
